Tiempo Development, a leading U.S.-based software development company that utilizes nearshore engineering resources and high-performance teams to build and deploy software that maximizes client outcomes, has been acquired by 3Pillar Global. 3Pillar delivers value-generating, digital solutions with specialized product strategy and management, user experience design, as well as software and data engineering expertise across mobile, cloud, and disruptive technologies.
GLC originally represented Tiempo Development in its majority recapitalization with Alerion Capital in 2017, and was engaged for a second time in 2020 to represent the company (and Alerion Capital) in a potential sale, culminating in the acquisition by 3Pillar Global.
"This is the second time we have engaged the GLC Advisors technology team. In 2017, they managed the successful recapitalization of the company. I cannot overemphasize the importance and value that the GLC team brings to a transaction. They are true experts at all aspects of the M&A process, including deal structuring, due diligence navigation, and negotiations, as well as managing the emotional side of the process."
-Cliff Schertz, Founder & CEO, Tiempo Development
"We have known the GLC technology team for years and have had the opportunity to be on both the opposite and same side of the table from them on multiple occasions. We have always been impressed with their professionalism, constructive tone, and strong advocacy for their client. The GLC technology team’s broad knowledge of the technology sector brings value beyond the requisite deal execution capabilities expected from an investment banker. GLC served all the shareholders well and assisted us in efficiently finding the best outcome for both the shareholders and our Tiempo team members."
-Rick DeAvila, Principal at Alerion Capital
With three digital delivery centers across Mexico, the acquisition of Tiempo augments 3Pillar's global footprint and enables enhanced data science, analytics, IoT, and cloud services. Tiempo's more than 400 software engineers, product developers, and innovation strategists bring a proven track record of delivering high performance digital solutions and agile outcomes for their clients. 3Pillar's newly expanded global workforce will now exceed 1,600 team members across 5 countries.
